PCMPlus: Intelligent Photon Counting Module
The PCMPlus module is the first USB based intelligent photon counting system on the market. It is a fully self-contained module featuring integrated sensors, power supply, thermoelectric cooler, memory and microcontroller which allows the user full control over various key photon counting sensor operating parameters. In addition, options offer enhanced functionality such as time resolution of 2.5ns, Time-Binning, Time-Tagging, Multi-Channel Scaler/ Averager (MCS/MCA) and Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC). The module is presently available with 1, 2 or 4 separate sensors. The PCMPlus is controlled through a modular, Java based, user interface (SensL Integrated Environment - SIE) designed to enable the user to easily configure, optimize and manage the multiple sensors and complex counting functionality within groups of PCMPlus modules. DLL and Labview drivers are also available to further simplify the integration of the PCMPlus into any photon counting system. The complete solution in a single module means that it is no longer necessary to be an optics or electronics expert to implement high resolution photon timing. The PCMPlus is an ideal sensing platform for use in an OEM instrument or as a tool for researchers who require an easy-to-use and flexible photon counting system.
